Basic Pantry

Here are a few items that I like to have on hand to help create quick meals.  These items generally have a long shelf life and are very versatile.

  • Noodles (Gluten Free, or Whole Wheat, Homemade, Whatever Rocks Your World)
  • Rice (Brown, White, Polka Dot…again whatever kind you prefer)
  • Canned Tomatoes
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Beans (Canned if you like it easy or Dried if you really want a from scratch meal)
  • To elaborate on the beans… I like to keep several types… you know in case I want to get wild some night….
  • Chicken Broth (Boxed, Canned, or go super crunchy and make your own and store it in ice cube trays in the freezer)
  • Beef Broth
  • Or Skip the Meat Broths and keep some Veggie Broth (if your into the not eating meat thing)
  • Creamed Canned Corn
  • Oatmeal
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Baking Powder
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Onions
  • Potatoes (Sweet and Unsweetened LOL)
  • Vinegar ( I prefer white) However, Apple Cider Vinegar has a great reputation for supporting your health.

That is it for the “long shelf life” supplies.  Most of these items are affordable, can be stored for awhile without spoiling, and can be used for a variety of healthy recipes.   I try to always have these items on hand.
